And because of this one simple shift in my eating, I shed pounds and inches from my body without starving myself and without a lick of exercise!

This isn’t your typical list of travel advice.

I’m not going to fill this page with tried-and-true advice like “before you depart, upload a copy of your passport to Google Drive.” However, you should most likely do so. I’m also not going to tell you to keep your money in several places or to consolidate and gain points with just one airline. But, then again, these are excellent suggestions. Instead, this is a list of slightly strange and unique travel suggestions. Consider this your list of undiscovered gems endorsed by the travel community.

I could have used these nuggets of knowledge aeons ago. Tip 11 would have been especially useful when I misplaced my bags in New York City. Guys, I was trapped wearing leggings for days before Lululemon made them fashionable. Not to mention, suggestion 4 would have came in helpful when I forgot my passport in an Italian hotel. That, however, is a story for another day.

Make sure you don’t make the same mistakes I did by reading this list before you leave to travel smarter, better, quicker, and stronger. Here are 20 unique travel tips to help you improve your travel game.

1. No matter where you are, wash your clothes.

So you can wash your clothing in the bathroom sink, stock up on travel-size containers of laundry detergent. This will save you money because hotel laundry rates are astronomical. This will also save you time waiting for the dryer to buzz at the motel. Tide makes good, easy-to-pack travel pods as a bonus tip.

I was shocked! I discovered a way to enjoy my morning coffee and fight the extra weight that was keeping me from seeing myself the way i wish!

What I love about it is that it is natural, Vegetarian, Non-GMO, Gluten free... Perfect for everyday use!

I felt a boost in my metabolism and amazingly, I didn't feel that much hungry as before!

2. If you’re flying with a partner, avoid the middle seat.

If you have the option to choose your seats online, select an empty row and window and aisle seats. When other passengers check in, they’re less likely to select the seat in the center between you and your spouse, giving you a better chance of getting the entire row to yourself. If someone does arrive, simply state that you would want to sit close to your friend. Let’s face it: no one in their right mind wants to be squeezed between you and your partner. Win-win.

3. Wipes for babies aren’t only for babies.

If you have little time (or energy) to shower on any day of your trip, baby wipes will offer you the ultimate refresh after a long flight or get you feeling ready to confront the day. Seriously, it’s so clean and fresh.

4. Never leave anything in the safe unattended again!

Are you as forgetful as I am? Carry a colorful thread or paracord with you. If you’re going to use the hotel safe, tie one end to the handle and the other to something you won’t forget, such as a suitcase. That way, before flying out of the country, you’ll be sure to empty the safe of all your valuables.

5. Don’t make the airport line move too slowly!

Take a screenshot of your digital boarding pass if you’re using one. I’ve slowed down the line more than I’d like to admit while trying to connect to WiFi in order to retrieve my boarding pass from my email. #annoying

6. Use duct tape to prevent stealing.

Yes, you read that correctly. Put a piece of duct tape on your expensive camera equipment or devices if you’re traveling with them. Nobody wants to steal your tools if they appear to be broken. Truth.

7. Use reddit to find the greatest, free travel agency.

Before you leave, post a rough itinerary on r/travel and ask for advice. You’ll get great, often unusual, advice from people who have visited the location you’re visiting.

8. Get your body as close to your destination’s time as possible.

Set all of your clocks to destination time as soon as the plane takes off and start acting like a local. They eat when they want to eat and sleep when they want to sleep. I understand that it’s difficult – but so is jet lag!

9. Check crime rates to stay out of problems.

Low hotel rates, for example, are too good to be true. Check the crime rates in the area where you’ll be staying to see what you’re in for. The inexpensive prices may not be worth the burden of having to dwell in a neighborhood where you’re afraid to go outside.

10. Use Google Maps to your advantage.

Google Maps features a hidden offline maps function that allows you to access your maps even if you don’t have access to an international data plan. All you have to do while connected to WiFi is zoom in on the map area of interest and type “OK maps” into the search box. “Download map?” will appear as a pop-up. This will allow you to access the map even if you are not connected. Hacked!

11. Pack a change of clothes in your carry-on bag.

Pack a change of clothes in your carry-on bag. It’s best to prepare a backup plan in case your luggage gets lost. If your luggage goes missing, make careful to inquire for reimbursement from the airline. You’ll have a first-rate toiletry pack to take with you at the very least. If you’re lucky, you may even be compensated for the cost of a new wardrobe!

12. Include a swag bag in your checked luggage.

Make certain that your checked luggage stands out. It makes identifying your bag at the carousel more easy and eliminates the danger of someone accidentally grabbing your bag. If you’re on a budget, duct tape comes in a variety of patterns. I’m referring to the cheetah print.

13. Purchase a tablet and fill it with movies and books.

You’ll never need another travel partner after this. It not only helps pass the time on flights, but it also comes in handy when your hotel room only has a few English channels. Bring out the Kindle, or any other tablet for that matter!

14. On the plane, ask for more!

Seriously, gain confidence and request the entire can of club soda, and the flight attendant will gladly comply. It’s better than a standard child’s sip.

15. You don’t even need shampoo and conditioner in bottles.

I’ve discovered bar shampoo and conditioner, and it’s really transformed my life. The following are the top reasons to convert: 1) bar goods won’t explode in your suitcase, and 2) if you’re not checking luggage, they can be stored in your carry-on. 3) They last at least the same amount of time as a full bottle.

16. Bring waterproof bags with you.

Little waterproof bags will be your best buddy if you’re traveling to tropical locations. All of your devices and documents will be protected AF if your bag fails to keep out the dampness.

17. Purchase a microfiber towel.

It dries 1000 times faster than a typical towel and folds down to a little size. If you’re staying in a hostel and don’t have access to towels, these are excellent. On Amazon, you may acquire a three-pack for a low price. Unique Travel Tips Everyone Should Know

18. Take up a new pastime that involves travel.

Consider taking up photography as a hobby if you’re traveling alone. When you’re on your own, I genuinely believe it’s the finest way to have fun and experience a city.

19. Be one of the first individuals in your seating group to board the plane.

If you arrive late, your luggage may not fit in the overhead bins and will be moved to cargo, causing you to miss your flight. Nobody has the time for that. Unique Travel Tips Everyone Should Know

20. Honestly, the finest secret is – pardon the expression – not giving a damn!

Your journey will be a nightmare if you let delays, misplaced luggage, and improper instructions get the best of you. Relax and keep in mind that it’s all part of the fun! Unique Travel Tips Everyone Should Know
