WHY IS IT SO IMPORTANT TO HAVE A SKINCARE ROUTINE?

People with acne-prone skin have numerous challenges and are frequently on the lookout for a single miraculous product that can solve all of their problems. That, however, never works.

It’s critical to stick to a basic skincare routine in order to keep your skin barrier healthy and prevent it from environmental acne triggers. My strategy is to stick to the fundamentals and provide your skin with just what it requires.

WHY DO I APPRECIATE THE ORDINARY?

However, it is both affordable and effective.
Free of fragrance and essential oils.
Vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.
You can test each ingredient to see what works best for your skin before moving on to products with many active ingredients.
The Ordinary has so many skincare options that I can’t keep track of them all! That’s why it’s perplexing for newbies who believe they need everything.

The Ordinary and Skincare Routine: Why I Love Them
In this piece, I’ll break down the items and provide a straightforward yet effective skincare routine for oily, acne-prone skin.

You can always blend products from different brands; in fact, that’s what I always do. However, if you’re new to skincare, you may not know how to mix different items or even have the desire to research different brands and see what they have to offer.

I was shocked! I discovered a way to enjoy my morning coffee and fight the extra weight that was keeping me from seeing myself the way i wish!

What I love about it is that it is natural, Vegetarian, Non-GMO, Gluten free... Perfect for everyday use!

I felt a boost in my metabolism and amazingly, I didn't feel that much hungry as before!

There are a million different skincare brands and products to choose from, which can make purchasing skincare a daunting task. Because this brand is reasonable, accessible, and free of several commonly irritating substances, I believe a skincare routine based on The Ordinary would be ideal for someone just getting started.

Common issues that this routine can help with include:

Skin that is dull
Whiteheads
Blackheads
Skin that is dehydrated
Skin Tone Disparity
If you have oily-acne-prone skin, you can still benefit from this program if you have any or all of these concerns. Even persons with normal to mixed skin could benefit from this.

All of The Ordinary’s products used in this routine are vegan.

STEP ONE: CLEANING

Because The Ordinary does not currently have a gel or foaming cleanser, wash your face with a moderate pH-balanced gel or foaming cleanser of your choice to remove oils. If you wake up with a sticky, oily face, give it a shot!

Here are some of my favorite cleansers to try (with reviews):

Acid-Duo 2 percent Cleanser by Wishtrend
Drunk Elephant Beste No.9 Jelly Cleanser Pixi Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel
Clear Face Cleansing Sebamed Honey Fix Foam Vilvah Face Cleanser

STEP 2: 10 % NIACINAMIDE + 1% ZINC pH 5.50-6.50 SOLUTION PRICE: $7 FOR 30ML

Wipe away the water after cleansing your face and apply two drops of this serum to your skin. Please keep in mind that applying it to moist skin and/or using greater quantity causes it to foam a little.

This is one of my favorite The Ordinary products. Niacinamide is an excellent ingredient for dull/uneven skin, as well as for strengthening your skin’s barrier and so lowering the impacts of environmental damage.

This is an excellent anti-oxidant to include in your daily regimen. I found that after using this product on a regular basis, my pores appeared to be smaller.

This serum also mattifies the skin with 1% zinc, which is a dream come true for all oily skin types.

SUNSCREEN (STEP 3)

You may now use Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants from The Ordinary. It costs $12 for a 50ml bottle with a pH of 7.5-8.0. It does, however, have a white cast.

Purito Unscented Centella SPF 50+ is my personal favorite sunscreen since it is moisturizing, so you can skip the moisturizer, has no white cast, and has never affected my sensitive skin.

Every skincare routine should include broad-spectrum sunscreen. Not only will applying adequate sunscreen protect you from aging and skin cancer, but it will also assist to minimize post-acne scars and prevent dull skin.

If you’re not sure how much to use, check out this short Instagram video I made:

Please notice that I just demonstrated on my face for the video, but it is equally necessary to protect your nape, neck, ears, and other vulnerable body parts.

STEP 1: SQUALANE CLEANSER

Using a damp wipe to remove makeup is the worst thing you can do to your skin. And if you have acne-prone skin, it’s like inviting all future pimples to assault you all at once. I encourage double cleansing since it has worked wonders for my oily, acne-prone skin.

Begin with the Squalane Cleanser, which removes all makeup and pollutants gently. To begin, warm it between your palms for 20-30 seconds until it breaks down into an oily feel. Then massage it into your face and skin to ensure that you have removed all of it, or at least the majority of it.

STEP 2: FOLLOW UP WITH A SECOND CLEANSE

For the last cleansing, use the same gel/foam cleanser that you used in the morning. This ensures that any leftover makeup or debris is entirely removed from the skin.

Not properly washing your skin causes skin congestion, which leads to acne, whiteheads, and blackheads. As a result, make sure you always remove everything!

EXFOLIATE IS THE THIRD STEP.

I’ll include a few exfoliating acids from The Ordinary that would be good for oily, acne-prone skin, as well as who should use them and how often.

2 percent solution of salicylic acid

Another of the brand’s holy grails is their salicylic acid solution. This solution would penetrate deep into the skin and clear the pores if you have congestion and blackheads. It also aids in the regulation of oil!

Every oily skin person, in my opinion, should have at least one salicylic acid-containing product. To avoid over-exfoliation, use it on alternate evenings and no more than three times each week.

It just takes two drops, and make sure you apply it after your skin has dried completely after cleansing.

This also works as a spot treatment for me. You can learn more about this product in my review of The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2 percent Solution.

Lactic Acid is a kind of lactic acid.

$8 for 30ml of pH 3.6-3.8

Lactic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that gently exfoliates the skin, leaving it smoother and clearer. Choose this if dullness and whiteheads are your main concerns.

If you have sensitive skin, start with the 5 percent version, but if you don’t, go for the 10%.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LACTIC AND SALICYLIC ACID?

Many of you may be dealing with multiple concerns at once, such as blackheads, whiteheads, dullness, and acne, and are unsure of the difference between lactic acid and salicylic acid. My recommendation is to utilize both.

Lactic Acid – Sunday & Friday (2x a week)
Salicylic Acid (Salicylic Acid) (Tuesday) (Or vice-versa)
Choose the acid that addresses the majority of your worries and use it twice. To be safe, the overall exfoliation count should not exceed 3 times each week.

If you’ve used exfoliating acids before, go for their Glycolic Acid Toner instead of the lactic acid.

To learn more about this product, read my review of The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7 percent Toning Solution.

STEP 4: MARINE HYALURONIC SKINCARE ROUTINE WITH THE ORDINARY

Use the Marine Hyaluronic after cleansing on days when you don’t exfoliate. Otherwise, wait until after you’ve applied your exfoliating acid before applying it.

Sea Hyaluronic is a moisturizing serum that contains skin-friendly marine bacteria, algae, and amino acids to moisturize and strengthen your skin. This product is fantastic since, unlike their hyaluronic acid serum, it doesn’t feel thick or greasy and is ideal for oily skin.

I try to keep my early skincare routine as simple as possible, however,

you can incorporate the serum into your daily skincare routine for added hydration.

STEP 5: NATURAL MOISTURIZING INGREDIENTS PLUS HA

Finish up your skincare routine with a lightweight water-based moisturizer that will hydrate your skin without feeling greasy or clogging your pores.

Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF) is already present in our skin, protecting and hydrating the surface layer. This moisturizer from The Ordinary contains various amino acids, glycerin, ceramide precursors, urea, hyaluronic acid, and other ingredients to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.
